Postpartum Preparation and Planning

I will come to your home for a visit lasting up to 3 hours. During this time I will help you prepare your home in an optimized set up for having a newborn and recovering from birth. We will talk about helpful household systems, tips for sleeping and managing duties as a couple, postpartum recovery information useful feeding information, products you will need or not need, and what to expect.

For some families this might look like: setting up a safe sleeping area on each floor of the house, making postpartum bathroom supplies baskets for each bathroom, creating self serve snack areas for older children, accessible laundry systems in different areas of the house for families with multiple children, creating a bottle washing and sanitizing system, teaching dads how to wash and sanitize pump parts, going over what baby and postpartum products you need and don't need, and discussing do's and dont's of postpartum recovery care.

This service is perfect for families who cannot make the financial investment in full time postpartum doula support but can benefit from having efficient systems and a set up in place. It is also perfect for families with dads or partners that are eager to take on more a role in the house postpartum, but benefit from knowing what to do and how to do it.

Postpartum Support

I help the mother with emotional and physical recovery, provide information and support for infant care, share coping skills for new parents, assist with housework, and help with family adjustment. My main goal is to nurture and support the mother so that she can nurture and mother her family. This might look like preparing a hot meal for mom, helping her get a shower and a nap, or sharing soothing techniques for the infant.

I am currently studying to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. I can provide in person or virtual breastfeeding support as a doula.

Postpartum support is available only for my birth doula clients at a rate of $35 per hour with each visit lasting a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 4 hours. I do not offer overnight postpartum care at this time.
